Safari and Java

I have problems running Java with Safari. I am using latest updates fro both sofwares. I enabled Java in the Safari preferences.

The same Java version works fine with Firefox...

Any suggestions?

There have been a number of recent malware attacks in Java running in a Browser in Mac OS X.

It is pure folly to continue to use 10.5 if you are doing this. You will get hacked in short order. You need to cease using Java inside your Browser, or upgrade to 10.6 at a minimum.

Java for 10.6 and later have been updated to plug these rat-holes. Older versions have not. It would be irresponsible to provide help for you to use Jave in a Browser under 10.5. You should not be doing this.
