I am using a public computer and I can sign in to iCloud, but the connection gets lost.  Once I even got in, but couldn't get mail.  Please--help!

    It's likely that the router is blocking the ports that must be open to access iCloud.  This article lists the ports used for iCloud and other Apple services: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629; you can search it for "iCloud" to see which ones are required.  It's likely that there's nothing you can do about it as the network administrator would have to configure the router to allow access to these ports.
