Does anyone know if I can use FCPX to pull in an iTunes song and add beeps or similar for a workout track and share/export as an iTunes file again. Also looking to blend two songs together. Very basic stuff I know but free software is just useless.

When you are done hit export and choose "add destination"

If you have Protools or Logic Pro, thats another story but... FCPx (IMO) is better than gBand ;-)

Yeah...
I wouldn't start messing with beats and arrangements etc in FCPx... But OP wanted to add beeps and stuff. Which IMO is faster...
Perhaps I aint being fair to gBand. I come from Protools and Logic and gBand leaves just about ANY feature open in comparison.
To OP -
If you plan on buying FCPx for music editing.. DONT... For that amount of greenbacks you can get Logic which is AMAZING for such.
To add from my previous question?? I still haven't done it yet but am looking for a way of taking a 25 min long audio track and cutting it into 5 seperate files to put to disc as my tracks?
