My iPod 4g keeps asking me to restore. How do I fix this?

Hi,

I'm just having a bit of a problem with an iPod 4g that recently underwent a screen replacement. This iPod is stuck in recovery mode. I can hook up the iPod to the PC, and iTunes will recognize it, but will ask me to restore the iPod. I restore the iPod, and progress completes without error, but when everything finishes and I am asked to wait while the iPod restarts, the iPod still boots into recovery mode and I am asked by iTunes to restore it all over again. I have tried this 3 times.

I am using iTunes version 11.0.2.26, and am trying to update the iPod to the latest software version.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Loop

Maybe:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.

Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. However, then might not help since you disassembled the iPod
