I am not able to access VPN when at hotel. I can access any other time, any other location, except the hotel. The hotel IT support could not help me. Anyone else have this problem?

Most likely the gateway doesn't pass the necessary traffic. All you can do is use a different network. It's a good idea when traveling to have a phone that can tether, or a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.
I've had the same problem with our company VPN and hotel WiFi, in my case it was because it was an open/unsecure WiFi (our company is obsessed with security), could be the same in your case?
Or maybe the connection is too slow, our VPN doesn't work then either.
I am not sure what you mean by a different network. But I can access the VPN using my Thinkpad, just not the MAC, so it makes me think it is MAC related?
What kind of VPN is it?
