iphoto movies won't import to imovie

I have the same problem suddenly.

all my iphoto movies do not show in Imovie 11

I deleted the com.apple.imove.plist file (restarted it and it did not create a new file interestingly enough)

I also rebuilt thumbnails and permissions in iphoto, nothing helped...
