How can I load Aperture 3.4.3?

Today I upgraded to OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion from OS X10.6.8 Snow Leopard so that I could upgrade from Aperture 3.1.1 to Aperture 3.4.3.

First error message was that my Preferences were set to allow “only Mac and recognized developers” to download. I changed that to “Any”. When I again tried to download, the error message was” Need Aperture 3.0 or higher” to download.

So I went to Apple Support and attempted to download 3.0.3 and 3.0.2, both reporting errors as before: “Need Aperture 3.0 or higher.”

Obviously Aperture 3.4.3 does not recognzide the Aperture software I already have loaded. And I haven’t seen anything in the various forums to help.

My question is: Now what?

Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Did you originally buy Aperture from the Mac App Store or was it a DVD purchase or a trial download that you upgraded?

If it was from the MAS you need to log in using the same Apple ID you used when you bought it.

If it was other then the MAS when you installed Mountain Lion did you do a clean install (wiped the disk) or did you overlay ML on SL? If you did a clean install you need to reinstall Aperture from the original media first before upgrading.

If you did an overlay for software update to see Aperture ion the system in needs to be installed in the systems Applications folder with the name Aperture.

Thank you, please see my 2 other replies. Aperture 3.1 was on a disk I purchased from the Apple Store. I'm quite sure that the upgrades to Aperture 3.1.3 were downloads. Unfortunately, due to an identity theft problem involving iTunes, I changed all IDs and passwords. I supplied Apple Store with my original Apple ID but they have yet to return my former password. I overlaid ML on SL. And yes, Aperture is in my applications folder. Until Apple can come up with a reliable, workable download I think I'm sticking with 3.1.3. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Mine was a Trial that was upgraded. I had it named Aperture 3 Trial for most of its existance but just changed it to Aperture after checking this site. I still don't get any updates available when I choose Software Update from the Apple. The Aperture is version 3.0.3 and I have just moved them to a new computer that is running Mountain Lion. When I put Aperture 3.0.3 on the new machine I could not open my Aperture library. Now I can't update the library. Only about 8,000photos of my kids from age 1-7 on there.... 😟
