i tryes that also, but it doesn´t detecte the HDTV, i only try the tunderbolt port.... i think after all the tests i have done, that the problem could be on the adapters... i already tried 3.... low budget ones....i would buy another one but i would like to be certain it will work.... i have an older macbook not pro, the blacj edtion one... also have an adaptor, but not to HDMI... it connects to the VGA port at the HDTV.... it works perfect.....

thanks for your time Courcul... but you must be kiding right? i use mac for almos 15 years.... i have another laptop working fine on the HDTV.... i know how to select the correct source....

No. I am not kidding. I have a Hitachi flatscreen with all sorts of inputs and connect the Mac to it with this: http://www.techlink.uk.com/products/apple/iwires/iwires_mini_displayport_plug_to _hdmi_plug However, until I get into the panel's menu and explicitly select its HDMI input, the Mac refuses to recognize the device and send the signal over. This is on a Late 2011 MBP with 10.7.5.

Why would he be kidding. He is trying to help you. We can not see what your settings are and we have no idea what your experience level is. Many have posted here that they can't see their desktop on their tv and it was because they had not selected the proper input source on their tv.

So I don't think there was any kidding.

thanks Courcoul, im sorry about the comment i made, didnt mean to be disrespectful. my HDTV is a 42" samsung, and besides the source menu where you can chose witch port to select, there is nothing else on the main menu of the TV for ableing anything.... i tried to connect to all 3 hdmi ports with no luck, tried all resolutions avaiable on the display menu on the MBP... i see in other discussions that on the display menu on the MBP besides the colour and monitor i should have another opition but cant find it... aldo the mirror check box does not appear..... when i do "detect monitors" nothing happends.... the only i can see happening is in the right moment i connect the end of the adaptor to the MCP the laptop screen flashes light blue once and gets back to the image but on the HDTV keep saying no signal detected....

thanks again Courcoul
