application support folder empty

My folder "library>application support" is almost empty. There are only 8 folders in there.

Why are the rest of the applications not showing up? I have tons of apps installed on this computer.

Which Application Support folder...?

The one at /Library/Application Support probably does have very little in it, since this is the Application Support folder for deamons and "All User" applications. Most applications store individual items for individual users.

That folder is at /Users/<your name here>/Library/Application Support and is normally hidden since your personal /Users/<your name here>/Library folder is hidden. You can reach it in the Finder by clciking on the "Go" menu, then holding the option key. "Library" will be revealed as another item you can select.

Not all applications use the Application Support directory. This is just a resource for programs to use for storing resources it needs to run that are not shared by other programs. If you know a program you use should have a folder in here then it may indicate a problem, but otherwise if your programs are all working as expected then don't worry about it.
