Are you using the wall charger?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.

Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

What you need to do is, make an appointment with apple. If you get a time and date then they will have a 1to1 convocation with you about you iPad mini. If not have you tyres this?I have an iPad mini which has a charger the charger broke after 3 months of use. The smaller chargers have been made to be more efficanct but in the long term don't last as long. I have one now , this is my 3rd charger. This one is starting to break I've had it for a week. To fix your charger you can twist the top of the charger until it starts to charge. If this does not work, I would recommend going to the apple store. Sometimes they give you a new charger, if it has no cut in half and is looking okay, hope this helped

Like many of you in this post I have had the experience of my iPad mini not charging! I've only had it for 3 months so I knew it was anything that I've done, because I make sure to keep it updated and put away when not in use! Well I spoke to an Apple rep over the computer and phone and both were useless as far as finding a solution. I on the other hand have found a solution!!!! TRY THIS : Turn off the apple product (no reboot) just a regular turn off, then plug your device into the wall with the lighting charger or whatever charger came with your device, and leave it for about 4-5 hours! Did this last night and when I woke up my battery went from the freighting 1% to 100% charged! Imagine that!!! Give it a try doesn't hurt to try! Also of you don't want to wait that long to see if it's actually charging you can check it after about 30 mins to see if the % has changed. Hope this helps someone out there! Not sure why this sudden change but Apple products are not cheap, so they need to get it together!

Hi mohit,

Your iPad will not charge if you connect it through your pc or laptop. You must connect it to wall with the adapter provided in the box. Make sure you switch it off and then put it on wall after 3-4 hours, disconnect the adapter from power source remove the cable and then restart again. Check it must have a certain percentage hike in battery. If not take it to the apple care.

Thanks,

N
