Logitech speaker S715i won't recharge my "ipad mini" using the lightning to 30-pin Adapter. Has anyone solved this problem?

Everytime I connect my mini to the Logitech S715i or Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus speaker a pop-up appears telling me the iPad doesn't recognize the device and the battery symbol shows that it isn't loading. I am using the lightning to 30-pin Adapter.

Is there a way to correct this so my speaker will act as a dock and load the iPad?

Would love the help if you have the know how. Thanks!

Does the iPad play music through the S715i? Mine plays, but doesn't charge. I took the lightning to 30 pin adapter back to the Apple store and swapped it for a new one and it still doesn't charge. Logitech support have told me that the S715i has been tested with the iPhone 5, but not the iPad mini.

The Apple sales assistant told me that, although the connections are the same, the iPad mini requires a greater charge current than the iPhone, this could be why it doesn't charge. The only solution appears to be to charge the iPad regularly with a separet charger.

Logitech S715i cannot physically pull enough power to charge your iPad. I know this really stinks, but since Logitech does offer a limited warrenty, I'm sure you can get a refund. According to you all, it sounds like Logitech made a mistake on there packaging. Plus since it is using the 30 pin with the lightning adapter (which is much new and probably not recognized by the product), I doubt that it can pull enough power. Only because due to the enhanced processer and battery it takes more amprage to power the unit. Once agian this is only a "3rd party problem" and has nothing to do with your ipad itself

Since the last update I have noticed the percentage of battery power does increase when my iPad mini has been docked although the actually staus reported on the iPad screen while docked is 'not charging'. This is obviously an Apple recognization problem (not sure about third party as Apple is providing the software).

Will not return my Logitech as it has excellent sound (speakers are higher watt then others in this price range), plus it has a built in battery which means I can take it on the terrace for tea in the afternoon.

As pointed out it requires more power then the iPhone, it does take longer to charge, so in the future if I need a quicker charge I'll do it via a wall outlet.

side note: This problem must also be why my iMac is shutting down all other USB devices when the iPad is plugged in.
