Upgrade from OS 10.5.8 to Mountain Lion in Russia

Hi!

We have now the iPad mini, it is nice, but to use it within
our Mac Pro with OS 10.5.8 - the problem 😁...

We have to use the latest version of iTunes, for that
we have to use Mountain Lion.

But as we see at Apple site - before - to install (upgrade)
the Mountain Lion - we must have the Snow Leopard...

Now 🙂...

I wish to byu from AppleStore Snow Leopard - but it is NOW delivery to Russia...
And it is not available at re:Store around us...

I was at one of re:Store in my city (Ekaterinburg, Russia) and guys told me
to bring my Mac Pro to them for upgrading... It is impossible - security reasons for the info
on the system and - it seems to me - now it is not the 20th century 🙂...

So, QUESTION.

Where the simple guy 🙂 can buy the Snow Leopard in Ekaterinburh in Russia
to begin the process for upgrading to Mountain Lion and - oh, happy - to use iTunes
within new iPad mini?

10.6.3 DVDs can be bought and you have to call Apple to get 10.6.x on the phone which people still need to do in order to upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion (10.7 and 10.8)

And no you do not need to take it in!

You have to have a 2008 3,1 model Mac Pro to install ML.

As for secuirty and taking it in, if you were to, just remove all the hard drives etc and slap a new empty hard drive in there.

It is problem for me - to speak English by phone...
And - one more - as i tried - Apple Store do not ship tu Russia.

Ok, i shall try to tell in Apple office in my E-kat...

Just it is strange for me - why this problem exists 🙂?

Strange. Yes.

But Apple Store customer relations support must have Russian customer support.

They have 10.6 DVDs on hand but were removed from Apple Store web site (and now seem to be searchable or back)

Snow Leopard came out in August 2009, Lion in July 2011. And now the download almost only method (be sure to save to disk and flash drive before using).

I've seen SL DVDs online like Amazon sell for US$200 as a result.

In the US, there is a central Apple Online Store that will accept credit cards from US buyers and ship to US addresses.

In Russia, there does not appear to be such a central store, so you would have to contact the sellers on this page:
