How do I reassign mouse button 3?

I want it to open mission control, but all is does is show my open applications, which is completly useless for me.

I am on Lion 10.7.5 and using a left-right-middle button mouse.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

When I do that, I still get an a yield sign but it the middle click does do the application windows and overrides the "open applications" thingy despite it having the yield sign still. The secondary mouse button simply right clicks as it does normally and does not function as mission control.

The application windows here looks lke this:

It simply separates out the application I have on top. I'm not sure what purpose this actually serves... but that is what it does.

The "open applications" thing I am reffering to that was appearing before looks like:

And so you can see:

There is no middle mouse button option, though I have confirmed that mouse button three is the middle mouse button.

Got same issue. Only thing to do is get hold of an Apple mouse (Mighty mouse) will do the trick.

When connected you can go in to the Mouse perferences and change your mouse button 3.

I am in the situation where i need to use the 3rd button in my 3D program. But i can't get a hold of this mouse, unless i buy one or borrow it somewhere, wich i can't atm. 😠

But if you don't have an original apple mouse, then you are screwed!
