Apple Maps insists that I still live at an address I have moved from. How do I change this default?

Yes, but Maps doesn't recognise it. It keeps a record of my old address, even generating my old street address as the name of a contact. It's very weird.

And you can't edit it?
The castle is Leeds Castle, considered by many to be the most beautiful castle in the world. And as good a reason as any as to why I can't even afford the door knocker. 😁
Leeds is lovely, though you might also have meant Mereworth, which I only discovered through John Betjeman.
Thanks for your iPad efforts: sadly they didn't do the trick and I had to spend an hour online with an Apple technician, backing up the device, restoring its factory default settings, and then restoring from backup, to try and solve the problem. And guess what? It hasn't. Another day of my life wasted.
And thank you too. Ah yes, Sir John Betjeman, a name to conjure with and one of the few deserved knighthoods. But I digress. 😀
