PNY 32 GB USB 2.0 jump drive not working in MacBook Pro (OSx 10.8.2)

I've seen several posts that say to reboot, check the USB ports, format the drive to FAT32 in windows, & to open it in Disk Utility. Please don't tell me to do any of that. There is nothing wrong with the USB ports on this macbook. The drive is formatted fat32, & I am able to read/write to it on a windows machine. Finder doesn't see the the drive. Disk Utility doesn't see the drive. I see several posts from other people with similar scenarios, but I've not found a resolution.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Okay... So it was apparently the way I plugged it up to the macbook. (I know, sounds stupid). It's working. No problem.
