Q: Do not disturb and VIP question
I am traveling outside the US. If I place my phone on do not disturb, but list only certain numbers as VIP, I will receive calls only from the VIP numbers correct?

Not entirely. Only calls from the list of those allowed will ring on the phone when the phone is in standby. If it is not in standby (i.e. if it is being used) all calls will ring through.
Text messages will always come through. All DND does is silence the alerts when the phone is in standby.
