Why aren't my movies available to sync to my iPad?

Why aren't my movies available to sync to my iPad? I just got a new Macbook Pro, logged into my iTunes account, all the movies I've bought are showing, but when I go to sync with my iPad and move some movies onto it, iTunes shows no movies available under the Movies tab for my iPad. Anyone know what's going on and how to correct it? Thanks.
