Error Message: "None of Your Preferred Networks Are Available"

I cannot determine what setting I have wrong that results in my iMac persistently failing to recognize my personal Wi-Fi network. Upon going to sleep, the iMac loses connectivity with the Wi-Fi network and is unable to reestablish it without my clicking on from the available networks. The network is listed in "available networks" and I must manually point and click on it to re-establish connectivity. After that, connectivity resumes normally until the next time the iMac goes to sleep (daily) or is shut down (infrequently). I've shut off and restarted my Airport Extreme Wi-Fi - doesn't appear to be an issue there, as other devices connect to it just fine (iPac, Apple TV, etc.).

Any ideas on how to get my iMac to "remember" its Wi-Fi network and stay connected?

Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Two things to try. Try changing the channel. Get the demo of AirRadar to see what channels are least occupied. Note, it may not be another Network, interference can be caused by microwave ovens, cordless phones, etc. Experiment with different channels. Move the router nearer the computer.

If that doesn't help, then completely remove, then reenter the location, or, easier, just create a new location with a new name, using the same settings and try that one.

EDIT: is it showing the correct encryption protocol: WPA or WPA2 or, hopefully not WEP? Also, uncheck Ask to join new Networks, if it is checked.

Thank you WZZZ. Your answer before last helped me. Looking at your screen shot prompted me to reexamine my "preferred networks", revealing my iMac erroneously had my network as having no password. I went in to my preferred networks, selected my network, changed it from "no password" to WPA2 and entered the password, and voila! It now works.

Many thanks for your help.
