Please help. Can't install FCP on lion

I have a new MacBookPro running 10.8.2

I have Final Cut Studio 2 (FCP6) and had upgraded to FCP7 on old MBP

Can't install on new MBP -

Can't open application beceause PowerPC applications are no longer supported...

What to do?

Install the upgrade discs for your FCP7. It will ask you for your FCP6 serial number and the FCP7 serial number. Should work just fine. Some people have had issues. You may need to Instal Rosetta on your MBP if it's not already on there.

BTW 10.8.2 is Mountain Lion not Lion. This question is asked about evey other day on this discussion board. Search and you will find numerous threads on it.

Thanks, I'll try to install Rosetta.

I think my FCP7 was a download upgrade (?) and since I want to instal FCS 2, it looks like I have install those discs first (which is intel/power PC) fingers crossed the Rosetta install works...

Found my FCP7/studio upgrade discs. Hopefully that will sort it!

Not sure I understand, but for what its worth, you do not need to install fcp6 to install fcp7 even if fcp7 is an upgrade. All you'll need to do is enter the orginal serial number and then the upgrade serial number.
