Hi everyone, i bought an iphone 5 last week and sms was working fine. Shortly after i updated my iphone to the newest iOS, my sms stopped working. i can receive calls,sms' and everything, however, i cannot send sms' and imessages from my phone number. I've restored and erased all content from my phone and still no luck. Any alternatives? Please help!!

have you checked what's going on in settings, messages? try turning imessage off and then on again. you can also try this apple support article:
I have tried that and still it does not work. My imessage and facetime are both stuck on 'waiting for activation'. any other suggestions?

Next step restore first with back up and if required as new
Check the APN settings from your carrier in case update removed them
