apple tv 1 shows question mark when trying to update

hi

my apple tv first generation keeps trying to update and showing an apple tv with a question mark over it! If i remove the power cable and plug it back in it reboots and all is good till it trys to update itself again. I also have another apple tv first gen so is there any files that i can copy from that one via ssh terminal to put on the one that keeps playing up to stop this problem from re occurring as the other apple tv works fine!
