how to transfer movies from itunes to ipad

What format is it in ? Have you tried converting it into a different format ?

While your iPad is connected to iTunes, check the "Video" tab under the iPad section and make sure the syncing instructions are set correctly.

Make sure that you are signed into the correct ID on the iPad - the one with which you bought the movie. Make sure that you have nothing restricted for content in Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you selected the movie to sync.

Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.

Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.

Click on the Movies Tab on the right.

Click on/select the movie that you want to sync..

Click on the Sync Movies Heading.

Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

If you are running iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar in the menu at the top so that you can see your iPad under the devices heading in the sidebar.

Thanks for mentioning the Apple IDs! I wasn't signed in on the same account on my iPad, so it wouldn't show up in iTunes - it would only try to set it up as a new iPad or restore from old Backups.

Does not work. Not copynig my videos.

What happens when you try to sync them, what does 'not copynig' mean ? Are you getting any error messages ? That is the computer that the iPad is synced to ? Do the videos play on your computer's iTunes (e.g. you haven't deleted the actual videos files from your computer) ? If your iPad is on iOS 10 you haven't deleted the Videos app or set a film / TV programme age restriction on it ? What have you tried to see if it fixes whatever the problem is ?

It is telling me unsupported format and not syncing. It is 2016 and I can not copy a video file to my iPad. "It just works." Yeah... You bet...

It is an MP4 file in H.264 format. 1080p Video. I do not want to convery anything. I just want to watch my video. That's it.

If it's not in a compatible format you will either have to convert it if you want it in the iPad's Videos app, or find a third-party videos app that supports it and copy it to that instead

You do it from your computer - how you do it will depend upon what the app supports e.g. file sharing via the iPad's Apps tab in iTunes, transfer via your wifi network, Dropbox etc
