I am trying to locate my purchase history for in app purchases. I have downloaded the current Itunes but cannot find where to login to my account. I have been given the instructions but cannot at the top of the Itunes screen where is has account I do not get the option to login. And purchase history is not a choice.

You do this on iTunes on your computer, not in iTunes on the iPad. Did you post your question in the wrong forum, or are you trying to do this on the iPad?
Anyway Launch iTunes on your computer and from the menu at the top of the screen go to Store>View Apple ID. Enter your ID if necessary and your password. Then go down to Purchase History>See all - tap the arrow on the right. You can see all of your purchases in the next window.
You should also receive an email for each purchase at the mailbox associated with your Apple ID.
