Macbook Pro + Rain = Damage?

Hi everyone.

I have a macbook pro late 2011 its 13 inches and yesterday i took it to school for a project.

While I was coming back it started to rain. I was walking home and apparently my backpack isnt water proof so I ran

home. I opened my mac and tried to turn it on and it kept shutting down. I freaked out when I saw water and blew it with a hair dryer and waited for an hour to turn it on Then it made a stange poping sound and turned on. The screen was black but the sleep light turns on like it just woke up from sleep.

It goes like that for a few seconds and then the fan starts to speed up and then I get scared and turn it off.

The fans get really crazy fast. It feels like an im in an airplane.

I dont think that much water got in to it maybe a few drops but still is that enough to damage it completely?

Is it a good sign that its turning on?

Is my computer ruined? Should I wait after i turn it on to see if the fans ever stop?

I really love my macbook and I really want to keep it and I am really worried 😟

Can I fix it? Will apple help me?

Thank you 🙂
