Unable to see what I've type when it goes below keyboard

Hi can someone explain why when I'm typing that once the page goes underneath the keyboard I can't see what I've typed. How do you get the page to scroll up and stay up in order that I can see what I'm typing. This happens in all my outgoing emails, notes and reminders its so frustrating. I have the Mini iPad
