I just bought my macbook and I have opened my mail and created the pop email accounts etc. On these accounts my folders for my mails are inside the INBOX and this is normally viewable on outlook and is the same on my iphone and ipad, but i can not seem to see them on the email on the macbook? can someone help?
In the same vain I am struggling to work out how to create new folders etc in the email system...

On the mail menu bar do you have Show checked (Just under new mail icon)
line should read Hide inbox sent draft flagged

Thanks, I see the differing INBOX's etc, but I cannot drill down into the inbox to see the folders within? does this make sense?
Nope, you can add a new folder their called mailbox in mail

Hey, thanks this will help a lot and has got me back thinking that this was a great idea.... lol
Now I have one more question.... on my iphone I have contacts that exist but are from an exchange email account that I no longer have access to.... (old work), can I somehow transfer these to the macbook?
