I’ve been given an Apple Universal Dock, AND the AV cables.
On trying a video — an old Daffy Duc cartoon — my iPod tells me my TV should receiving a signal.
I’m not.
What am I doing wrong … ?

Are you using the Video app?
Do other iPods work on the dock?

I’ve not tried oither iPods: it’s the only one I’ve got
And, yes, I tried through the Video.app.
My TV set didn’t pick up a signal from the iPod/Dock combination, although it displayed a page telling me the TV was connected.
Should I try connecting the iPod Straight to my TV, with tha AV cables: or keep trying with the Dock … ?
Does the input on the TV work for other inputs?

You’re right, Illass, I hadn’t: after some experimentation, I found I need to pick the Video AV channel — for old VHS machines — rather than the Component AV channel I was expecting to need to use.
