hangs avi in applications

Hello!

Accessed from the programs to AVI program hangs. Spinning circle cursor until you remove the process.

For example, aperture, to import a photo from the folder where the video files. As soon as a folder containing video, aperture hangs.

Another example, Toast Titanium, turn on the video conversion section, an attempt to add a video file, the folder opens, choose a file, click Add, just circle the cursor and all.

Just kuitsk Tim plays the files normally.

What could be wrong?

Reinstalling the operating system and return to the place of data from Tim colossus does not help.

Exactly which iMac do you have?

see > How to identify iMac models

How much RAM memory does it have?

see > About This Mac

If it only spins for a second or two, then you most likely just need a RAM upgrade.

see > Upgrade Apple iMac Memory & more – Easy Guide, Free Installation Videos.

If it spins for longer, then it could be either hardware or software.

For example: a full hard drive, a bad hard drive, a corrupt OS X or some bad third party software.

No, RAM and HDD are not bad.

I have a problem in Aperture, when only take folder for import -

In the main window previews and start appearing as soon comes to Avi - application freezes. I have problems only with AVI, and taken Pentax DSLR, but I have no problems for example for MOV files shot on CANON cameras.

Maybe something with the settings or codak? The problem appears to absolutely any file size. Although 1MB, though 100MB - everywhere the same.

How to check and find the problem?
