Lost my files at my old IBook

Hi how are you. Actually my library was at my old IBook and suddenly it broke up. I want to know how can I get my iTunes music files back? It's over then 1.800 songs ande they are still at my Ipod but I want to buy some new songs and I'm afraid to refresh it at my laptop IMacPro and have my library lost. What do I do? Can you help me please?
