cannot restore ipod touch 4th gen

Hi,

I recently updated my ipod touch 4th gen to IOS 6 and since then, I can only get the apple logo and then the connect to computer icon.

Every time I try to restore it, it starts to verify and then drops out with a code 9 error. I have tried to restore it on another computer and the same thing happens.

I have also tried keeping the home button down as well as trying holding it down with the power button etc, but still no luck.

The ipod is only a year and a half old, so apple will not look at it under warranty.

Any help or ideas please.

Error 9

This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
