Ipod froze

Ipod screen froze with Itunes logo and usb adapter pointing towerds the Itunes Logo. I tried restoring the Ipod through ITune and nothing. I've tried the holding both on/off swith and the sleep mode switch at the same time and it still show the logo. Help!

iPod touch, iOS 3.0, Not sure if iOS3.0 is correct
