The Keynote file doesn't work full Keynote widget!#@?!

I created a Keynote file using hyperlinks to advance it. Then I drag the Keynote file into the Keynote widget, the thumbnail shows up (I checked the box that says Full Screen Only in the Interaction Inspector). I preview the file on my ipad. The book shows up and there is the Keynote widget teeny tiny - thumbnail size, not full screen!

WHY does it not open full screen like it's supposed to?

When I tap on it it opens a blank white screen with an x in the upper left corner.

Did I miss something in saving the Keynote file?

Was I supposed to export it as something else?

Any help I can get would be much appreciated.
