good experience with Genieo ?

i recently downloaded the genieo software and i must say it works fine for me, but when i looked for reviews about the product i came a cross some results of malware , am i missing something ? is it a malware ?

It's not actually malware, but it is something that changes browser behavior and is often installed without the user's explicit consent by being bundled with other software. It is in a class of software that is generally questionable, and collects data on the user's browsing habits. This is done not just for the user's benefit, but also for marketing purposes.


If what Genieo does is useful to you, does not cause any problems with your system and you are willing to trust that company with personal information, then there's no major reason to remove it.

Genieo is not a malware, and it needs user consent in order for it to be installed on your computer.

We do not collect any data from your computer as you can see from our privacy policy http://www.genieo.com/privacy/ and in our FAQ page http://www.genieo.com/faq/
