apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com

When I got my Iphone4, 4S and 5, the yahoo email account was alright...... but today I could not update any email from yahoo. It kept prompting me the error message < The user name or password for "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect. >

Please advise.

Raymond

I'm having the same problem.

Apple Support please help us asap!

Since this is a YAHOO mail account, did you try contacting yahoo support about the issue? Apple does not own nor administer yahoo's email service.

Can you log alright to your yahoo account online in a web browser?

Did you look on YAHOO's support site for any help or suggestions:

Yes, I can open my yahoo mail using safari on my ipad and I have also tried the suggestions on the yahoo support site about deleting and creating a new account under Mail, Contacts, Calendar but I couldn't finish the process because the message apple.imap.mail.yahoo password is incorrect. It's so frustrating.

The yahoo mail on my ipad was working fine until last week. I didn't do anything. I just noticed today that I don't have new messages and the messages are not updated.

But it's only the Apple built-in email that suddenly stopped working. The stand-alone Yahoo email app works just fine. I believe that this problem started shortly after I upgraded to 6.1.2 but I can't be positive about this.

Has Apple looked at this problem and if they have, have they proved that it's Yahoo's fault? If so, let us know the details so that we can go to Yahoo with some facts.

I've written and support software for 30+ years and when there's a problem where only our company's client application suddenly will not communicate with someone else's server, our first suspect is our product. If it isn't our problem, then we can let anyone using our client app what the problem is.

My iphone mail still does not connect to yahoo. For no reason it stopped working with the error ' apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com'

I tried setting up my yahoo email on my kids phone.........same error !! I think my next trip will have to be the Apple store. I have looked at numerous help BB's to find help, however I cannot find a fix. I can log into yahoo mails APP (thats what i'm using now) and works fine, just cannot use the iphone mail app 😠

It could just slow response from apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com that caused mail apps not working. I add my live.com email account to mail apps and the live.com account just work fine. When I PING with iP5 and used another PC connected to the same router to PING apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com, the response were slower and from some unknown dns name, instead of from apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com or any IP address.

FYI, both my Ymail and Yahoo email accounts not working with 2.4GHz wifi router. They both work with GSM/3G/4G.

Live email worked fine but slower with 2.4GHz wifi router.

I tested with iP4 and iP4, iOS 6.1.2.

Hello all "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" error users 🙂

Well after a week of no email on my iphone. It popped back up last night for no reason. It was out for a week, so weird. On another note. I contacted Yahoo Help and this is the response I got back today, I hope this helps:

Some customers are unable to access their Yahoo! Mail account on a mobile device because of an "Invalid ID and Password" error.

To resolve this issue, you will need to remove your account entirely from the mobile device. Wait twelve hours before adding the account to the device again. Note:If you do not wait twelve hours, this issue will not be resolved.
