Preferences panel cut off (can't save)

I can't save any preference changes in itunes because when I open up Edit>Preferences the window seems to be cut off around the edges and I can't see a OK or Apply button, which I think is needed to save preference changes. Part of the X at the top right is visible, enough to close the preference window, but this does not save my changes.

I have the latest version of itunes and don't have this with any other window in itunes or any other program.

hi Kreated!

it's possible that one of your itunes pref files has been corrupted here. we might be able to get back the correct view by "rebuilding" the preference files. ( make a note of any custom preferences you currently have managed to set up. the pref files rebuild will return all preferences to their defaults, and you'll have to recreat the custom preferences.)

find the following two files:

make sure itunes is shut down. find and delete the following two files:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref

and

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref

You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.)

This will force iTunes to run the setup assistance the next time you launch itunes.

do your preferences view properly after doing that?

love, b
