I have an ipod touch 3rd gen 64gb. The problem is when I connect it to itunes it says i only have 2gb. I can only put about 1 gb of apps on and its full. I restored it again to factory specs and still says the same. Also when I go into settings in the ipod, it says that the model number is n/a.

Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.
It says I have a total capacity of 893.9 mb. 344mb say other and that leaves 549.9mb free.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
I tried all this. I was hoping that it was an easy fix or it just read wrong and would bypass what it said. The ipod isn't worth much with only 2 gb. The closest apple store is 2 hrs. away. Thank you for your help though. Its appreciated.
