SMB shares and Execute permissions

With Lion Server, there is an issue with Execute permissions and SMB shares such that you can not install software on a Windows machine from an OS X smb share. This has forced me to use Parallels and Windows 7 Home to create the shares I need, but that is a bummer because I really want to use Hazel to do some file management, and mapping to the Windows share means Hazel has to poll the share and thus doesn't react as quickly as I would like. And being able to access the share directly from another OS X machine would be great as well.

So, my question is, does Mountain Lion Server address these SMB issues so that a Mac Mini can be a full server for Windows? Or is there perhaps another (affordable! ;) ) solution?

Thanks,

Gordon
