I now have an iPod touch 4th Gen but it won't work on the stereo docking station I have. That docking station is the Sharp DKA1 i-Elegance Music System with Alarm Clock for iPod. That docking station worked for my iPod Classic but I guess the ports are different. Is there an adapter I can get that would change the docking station port from the classic iPod to 4th Gen Touch?

Yes it does. The connector itself is different from the Classic to Touch 4th gen. For instance I tried plugging my Classic into the charger for the Touch 4th Gen and it doesn't fit and won't charge.
Then I am not away of any adopter. Have you contacted Sharp?
I could not find the manual or any good information about your dock.
Early iPods used FireWire *12 volts) for charging vice USB (5 volts) for present devices.
