How to select part of a song in iTunes?

Hi,

I'm wondering that in iTunes, after downloading a song, if it's possible to select only a specific part of the song to burn it on a CD afterward. For instance, if an entire song lasts 4 minutes, and I'd like to select what's between the minute 1 and minute 2 to burn on a CD, what should I do? Export the entire song to another software (GarageBand) and manipulate it there? Thanks.

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Yes, exporting to an audio editor such as Garage Band or Audacity is one way. They have the advantage of letting you see and hear what you are doing to the file as you edit. After you have it the way you want it, export and add it to your iTunes library. (You may either keep or delete your unedited original.)

If you want to do it only in iTunes, use File > Get Info, go to the Options tab, and set the Start and Stop times.

By the way, the audio editors also let you create a fade-in and fade-out. The iTunes method creates abrupt start and stops.
