Q: Sent mail from iPhone doesn't show up on Mac desktop mail client (and vice-versa)

I've been able to configure the iPhone email to be able to view, send and receive emails.  Sent emails from the iPhone do not show up in the sent mail folder in the Mac Mail's desktop mail client.  The same thing happens when you send emails from the Mac Mail destop, the sent messages do not show up in the sent mail folder on the iPhone.

This problem is with all email accounts including gmail.  The sychronize function on the Mac Desktop Mail doesn't help.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The Advanced tab is just for how long to leave messages on the server. The iPhone should have defaulted to never, but it is under Advanced in the Mail, contacts, Calendars settings for that email account.

To set up CC'ing yourself, it is in the Composing pane of Mail's preferences, and on the iPhone it is in the Mail, Contacts,  Calendars settings, Main page in the Mail section: Always Bcc myself.

The Bcc means they don't see that you are cc'ing yourself. You can also set that in Mail if you want.

My problem was any Yahoo mail sent from my iphone only appeared in the sent folder on my phone and any mail sent via yahoo on my mac only appeared on my yahoo desktop sent folder, I did the following as per above, but then an addition to this too:

Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Store sent messages on the server: check

But it still didn't work,  so I scrolled down the folders to store on the server and found another folder called "Sent" check this AS WELL AS "Sent messages"

It now all syncs on both devices.

Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Store "sent messages" on the server: check

Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Store "sent" on the server: check

Sorry I am not seeing the option "Store sent messages on the server". I am only seeing this (see screenshot). Having same problem as the person who submitted this post! Thanks...Screen Shot 2016-09-23 at 09.09.03.png

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
