How do I get itunes to stop adjusting the volume

Hi

I am running iTunes 11.0.2.25 and am really annoyed at how iTunes keeps adjusting the volume on me during playback. I am not talking about the 'sound check' or 'sound enhancer' or any other option that I can see in iTunes. They are all set to 'off'. What I am talking about is while I play a song and turn up the volume, iTunes adjusts it down automatically. I can keep doing this until the volume level is at 100% and the volume barely increases - or increases or a moment and then quietens down again. If I move the volume control to say 25%, the volume becomes almost inaudible, but then iTunes gradually increases the volume automatically to a seemingly random level.

How do I get iTunes to leave the friggin volume alone? Or is this something that can't be controlled?

I have looked at adjusting the 'Volume Adjustment' in the 'Get Info' area of individual songs and the setting there makes no difference whatsoever. I am ready to give up entirely on this piece of flawed software if there is no answer to this problem.

Again, I have diabled the 'sound check' option in 'Preferences', so it is not that.

Does anyone know how to get iTunes to play the song as it was recorded digitally without changing it?

My gratitude in advance for a resolution.
