My ipod Nano 5th Gen Won't Charge! I hook it up to my itunes/ My computer. It says that it has malfuctioned and that it can not be detectaded. would it help if i reset the whole ipod back to factory settings? or is it my computer please help! thanks (thats all i can say about it i dont know how to explain it sorry)

My 5th Gen. did the same thing once, but after I reset it, it worked fine. You reset it (always reset before restoring; it's much easier) by first switching the hold button on and off (top left on Ipod nano), then press and hold the menu and center button at the same time, until the apple logo appears.
acually it turned out that my ipod cords had shorts in them so i am using one that is just fine and it is charging perfectly fine now! But thank you <3
How did you figure you had a bad cord? My ipod has been acting up (refer to my recent post), and I would like to know how to tell if my cord is bad.
