Welcome to the Apple community.

You cannot change your iCloud email address, you will need to create and use an alias instead.

If you mean you changed the name of your iCloud ID, to change it on your device go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.

To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

The "delete account" function doesn't work for me, as the account on the device still has the old email and will not let me change it. When I try to delete the account, it asks for my password. I type in the password correctly, but the user ID is no longer valid since I changed my Apple ID email. This is a viscous cycle that I can't get out of - I wouldn't have changed my email on my Apple ID if I knew it was going to complicate everything else.......other ideas?

Sounds like you just upgraded to iOS 7 and Find My iPhone is asking for the password for your old iCloud ID. If so, if you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.

If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

Beware!!! Someone has hacked into my account and created an icloud email. Apple says I nor they can erase it. I cannot access my things and if I delete my icloud account then I lose all songs, apps etc and apple will not reimburse. I also had a friend who had a stalker who hacked into hers, again apple would not help. They basically said delete every thing and not use your icloud or live with someone else being in all your things, knowing your location, etc...
