how do i plug my iphone 5 to itunes without loosing any data from my phone

i just bought an macbook pro, ive updated the software and all. now im ready to use my iphone 5 on it. but i dont want to loose any of the data from my phone. but at the same time i want to use my mac as my main device for my phone.
what is the best way to do this?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iphone 5 & macbook pro

If you do not have access to the iTunes Library on your Old computer... or its Backup...
