Can't connect my iphone 4s to my macbook pro...

I can't get my iphone to connect to my macbook, Ive tried all the pbvious routes...checked they are both discoverable etc. I had no problem linking this iphone with my old Dell laptop so would be really grateful for some pointers....

How are you trying to connect them? You can't do it via Bluetooth if that's what you're trying (i.e. the "both discoverable" lingo you used). Either use iTunes w/WIFI sync enabled and be on the same WIFI network with both or use the USB cable that came with the phone.
