Hi, I've been wanting to upgrade my MacBook's RAM for a while now and I wanted to make sure what brand I should buy. I searched this up on amazon.com: PC2-6400 DDR2 800 MHz Type RAM. I then found this: Crucial 4GB Kit (2GBx2) DDR2 800MHz (PC2-6400) CL6 SODIMM 200-Pin Notebook
Memory Modules CT2KIT25664AC800. Is this the right kind of RAM I should Buy?

that is the correct ram for a Mid 2009 MacBook, but for a Late 2009 MacBook the ram needed is
204-pin PC3-8500 (1066MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM. The vendor, Crucial, is a good provider of RAM.
I searched it on amazon.com and it only had the 2GB, or i found 4GB but only one chip
first, which model do you have, the early or late model? After clarification, I will be glad to direct you to the appropriate ram online. Also , what country do you live in as not all vendors ship to all countries.

On A chart, I saw that mac late 2009 only could upgrade to 4gb

That was the max ram available at the time your mac was released and what Apple tested it with. As time goes on, 3rd party vendors test to see if more ram will work, this is very common (as Apple will not go and retest), and for your model it has been verified that up to 8gb will work with no problems.

Hi, Do you have a uk link? I've been searching on Crucial to try find 8gb of memory (2x 4gb) and can't seem to find any. Or anywhere online for that matter. How much will upgrading really speed up my mac? and is as much as 8gb necessary or would upgrading to 4 do?
