Can you open a powerpoint presentation in pages?

I have a powerpoint presentation sent to me from a client that needs to be editable in pages. There are no animations and the size is 8.5 x 11. Can this be opened in pages in a editable format?

It could be opened in Keynote, Apple's presentation application that is $20 on the OS X Appstore. It is also available for IOS.

Kelley,

No, you can't open PPT files in Pages. If you plan to do this often, purchase Keynote. The other option is to use OpenOffice or LibreOffice.
