Can I use my iPhone as an alarm clock without it making other noises until it's time to wake up?

Sure. Just Flip the Ring/Silent switch, the alarm will still work, but everything else is silenced. Or, use Do Not Disturb.

Yes. The alarm will sound even when the phone is muted via the mute switch on the side.

That will get rid of all of the unwanted noises - and also legitimate phone calls.
