Q: Using the iphone as an alarm clock - without waking up early

Can I use my iPhone as an alarm clock without it making other noises until it's time to wake up?

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1, IOS 6

Sure. Just Flip the Ring/Silent switch, the alarm will still work, but everything else is silenced. Or, use Do Not Disturb.
