I'm having the exact same problem and my phone has not been jailbroken nor am I attempting to install anything. I simply was installing the newest IOS update which froze in the middle. Had to hard boot the phone and it instructed me to plug into itunes.

Perhaps you have a better response since yours jumped to an obviously incorrect conclusion.

If you're getting an error 1015 then either it's jailbroken or the computer you're using was used to jailbreak or attempt to jailbreak an iOS device.

If you are NOT getting error 1015, then you are NOT having the "exact same problem".

Error 1015 might happen after making unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking."
